Kambi ya Tembo
Overview of the Destination
Kambi ya Tembo is a magnificent camp located on the north face of the Kilimanjaro with wonderful views of Amboseli and where one can see the wildlife up close. It offers views of the Kilimajaro and the limitless plains of the African savannah.
The camp is situated in Sinya, a 600 square kilometer concession that boasts breathtaking landscapes and commanding views of Mount Meru, Ol Doinyo Longido, and Ol Doinyo Orok peaks as well as the Kilimanjaro. It is one of the few areas in Africa where one may see huge male elephants with massive tusks that are over 50 years old.
The „bomas,“ or Maasai communities, are dispersed throughout Sinya. The Maasai in Sinya continue to live according to tradition, dressing in their vibrant blankets and participating in their customary rituals. They aren’t as accustomed to seeing tourists, who are more prevalent in other tourist destinations.
